Music Classes for Home School Ages 7-11

New for Winter 2010 

This new offering is designed as a prelude, alternative or supplement to private music lessons for those who would like a broader variety of music experiences in a small group setting. Although music appreciation, music reading and theory will be included, the main focus will be on making and experiencing music using instruments, voices, and movement. Classes are for students, only, without parents. Parents will be invited to attend class on the middle week and last week of each session. Specific activities will depend on age distribution and number of children enrolled.

• Keyboard Readiness
• Ensemble Singing and Playing
• Rhythm Chants
• Movement
• Music Reading / Theory Games
• Music Appreciation
• Improvisation / Creativity

More emphasis will be given to active music-making than to passive learning.
